Under 9 Premier Off To Winning League Start

Caragh Celtic 7

Kill Celtic 2

Caragh Celtic under 9’s travelled to Kill today to kick off their league campaign and came away with a fantastic win.

Caragh dominated the game from start to finish and the lads were overjoyed at the end to get such a great win against a team that had beaten them 5 times last season.

Caragh opened the scoring when Ben Morrell applied the finishing touch to a great solo effort from Cian O’Reilly. Unfortunately for Cian though he found the net at the other end with the last kick of the first quarter to level the game 1-1.

The Caragh lads rallied well to this setback and opened up a 2 goal lead by half time with goals from Daniel Hammill and Cian O’Reilly.

The 3rd quarter continued in the same manner with a further couple of goals, from Niall Cramer and Mikey Coffey, giving the lads a 5-1 lead.

The final quarter saw Kill throw everything at Caragh but they found Cian O’Reilly in fantastic form in the Caragh goals and he was ably assisted in defence by Caolan O’Toole, Adam Carberry and Conor Cassidy.  Kill did eventually find the net but at the wrong end following a great cross from Aaron Conway to make it 6 – 1 Caragh.   Kill did then manage to get another goal at the right end this time, but Caragh responded immediately with goal of the game from Ross Ward when he beat a number of Kill players before finding the top corner with a great shot.

All in all a fantastic performance from the team – keep up all the good work.
