Under 8s make it three wins on the trot

Caragh Celtic 9
Arlington AFC 1

Caragh Celtic U-8’s had an emphatic win over Arlington AFC at home on Saturday 5th of October. The first quarter ended goalless as it took Caragh some time to settle. Caragh Celtic had to do without the services of their star winger Daragh Carey who was unable to play due to illness. I’m reliably informed that he will be good to go for the next game.

Bobby Taaffe opened the scoring in the second quarter with a beautiful strike. Cian Corcoran, who had a great first half added a second before Bobby Taaffe struck again to make it 3-0 at halftime.

Caragh  Celtic continued to apply pressure in the third quarter with Bobby Taaffe grabbing his hat-trick and then quickly adding his fourth. Dara Cooke, Charlie Carr, Cathal McCarthy and Lorcan Byrne all scored in the third quarter to make it 9-0.

In the last quarter Arlington AFC were awarded a free on the edge of the area and scored. Cian Corcoran could do nothing as the ball took a deflection off the wall. This was the only time that Arlington AFC troubled the Caragh goal.

All the boys did well in this one sided affair. However, special mention must go to Bobby Taaffe who was captain for the day. He played superbly from start to finish and grabbed four goals for good measure, man of the match in my opinion.

Caragh Celtic- Lorcan Byrne, Cathal McCarthy, Jack Courtney, Charlie Carr, Bobby Taaffe, Cian Corcoran, Dara Cooke. Subs- Carraig Roche, Aaron Sharpe.
