Caragh Celtic 1
Kilcock Celtic 1
Caragh faced Kilcock for the first time this season and the two teams couldn’t separated as the game ended in a fair 1-1 draw.
The Caragh lads were somewhat out of sorts today and never really got their game going but did give a real workman like performance to dig out a draw and keep their unbeaten 2014 record going.
Kilcock opened the scoring early in the second quarter with a well taken goal that gave Conor McCall no chance in the Caragh goal.
Caragh bounced back though fairly quickly with Noah getting on the end of a through ball to finish from close range to leave the score at 1-1 at half time.
The second half produced no more goals with the goalkeepers in charge. The Kilcock goalkeeper was very solid throughout dealing well with everything that came his way while Daniel at the other end was called on to make a couple of fine saves.
Highlight of the game though was the last minute “Higuita” like excursion upfield by Cian when in goals for Caragh. Cian gathered the ball in his own box and rolled it out to himself and took off up the field looking to get the winner for Caragh. He made it a long way but eventually lost the ball and Kilcock charged back downfield to try and make the most of the empty goal – but fair play to Cian as he managed to make it back to put in a ball winning tackle on the edge of the Caragh area just as the final whistle sounded.
