U9 Stalemate With Kynog

Caragh Celtic 2

Kynog United 2

Caragh U9 Majors played host to Kynog Utd this morning in Eire Óg and like all the other meetings between these two teams this season it turned out to be a really tight affair.

This morning though it was a real game of two halves with the wind playing a major part.  Caragh had the wind at their backs in the first half and went in at half time 2-0 up.

Niall opened the scoring for Caragh in the first quarter when he found a bit of space in the box and finished well with a low shot and celebrated in style with a really well executed cart wheel!

The second quarter saw Caragh double their lead when Aaron scored goal of the game, Aaron picked up the ball on the right wing and cut in to the box betaing a couple of Kynog players before firing a smashing shot that flew in to the net off the far post.

The second half saw Kynog take control of the game and they pulled their first goal back in the 3rd quarter with an excellent shot from a free kick.  The fourth quarter started with Caragh hoping to hold on for a win but any hopes were dashed early on in this quarter when almost straight from the tip-off Kynog broke through and equalised.  The remainder of the last quarter was played out with no more goals to leave the score level at the final whistle.

Caragh: Jack Arnold, Adam Fleming, Adam Carberry, Josh Finan, Luke Martin, Niall Cramer, Brian Merrigan, Aaron Conway
