Caragh Celtic 4
Bush Celtic 3
Caragh Celtics’ U9 Major team had their second outing away to Bush Celtic today. Caragh started in fantastic form with three quick fire goals in the first quarter.
Luke Martin opened the scoriing with his first goal for the club when he went on a mazy dribble beating a number of Bush players before finishing to the net from close range. The second quickly followed with a sweet left foot strike from Mikey Coffey. Then the third came from a great shot from Ben Morrell from a free kick just outside the Bush penalty box.
Caragh seemed to rest on their laurels after getting such a good start and slowly Bush started to get back into the game. Bush scored twice in the second quarter to leave the score 3-2 to Caragh at half time.
Bush then kept the pressure on in the third quarter and got their equaliser early on when the Bush striker was put clear through and he made no mistake finding the Caragh net. Chances were coming at both ends now as both teams chased the win with Jack O’Neill and Adam Carberry both going close on a number of occasions but just not quite managing to apply the finishing touch and at the other end Ross Ward made a fantastic save to keep the game finely balanced going into the final quarter.
It was all to play for in the final quarter and with end to end play it was anyone’s game; Adam Fleming and Ben Morrell frustrated the Bush strikers with some excellent defending of the Caragh goal and at the other end when Aaron Conway passed the ball forward to Niall Cramer, he made no mistake finding the back of the net with the winning goal for Caragh Celtic.
Final score 4:3 to Caragh, and a really hard earned first win for the team – hopefully first of many.
