U11 Major Team Away To Naas AFC

Caragh Celtic got off to a slow start Saturday morning with the Naas team dominating the first ten minutes of the match, but Kyle Martins goal soon woke the Caragh lads up.  Daniel Courtney had some great saves in goals.  Ben Earley was denied a second goal with the naas keeper having to do a great save.  Darragh Hill fought hard but couldn’t get through the naas defence.    Jack Taaffe was in the right place when a ball came to him at the halfway line and he kicked a spectacular shot at the keeper who fumbled the ball through his legs putting Caragh 2-0 going in at half time.  The Caragh lads came out much stronger in the 2nd half with Fionn Tully having some fantastic headers. Ben Earley was in goals for Caragh in the second half and he made sure nothing was getting past him.   Alex Swift made a run and took a fantastic kick that rattled the crossbar.  Daniel Courtney made some great runs up the field sending the ball in to the box.  The Caragh lads were now in top form with some brilliant passing resulting in Eoin Heavey-Sharpe scoring a brilliant goal.  Sean Merrigan did well in defence with some great tackles.  Oisin Keogh made a great run up the field crossed the ball in to Fionn Tully who headed the ball narrowly missing the goal.  Cormac O’Neil played some fantastic football and put in some outstanding tackles.  Alex Swift got the ball from the Naas keeper and slotted it past the keeper.   Alex Swift had several attempts at goal before he got his second well earned goal with an out of the box shot to the top left corner, he was definitely in with a chance of man of the match along with Eoin Heavey Sharpe who fought hard today.    A special mention goes to our defence (Jack Taaffe, Cormac O’Neil and Oisin Keogh) who remained solid throughout the game.  The man of the match went to Eoin Heavey-Sharpe
