U10 Majors Topple Castle Villa In 9 Goal Thriller

Castle Villa 4

Caragh Celtic 5

We vistited Castle Villa this week in what turned out to be a cracking competitive encounter and proved to be our toughest game of the season so far.

We controlled the 1st quarter with captain Adam Fleming leading his team by example.  We opened the scoring when Brian put in a super cross to leave Aaron with a simple tap in.  Our lead was doubled shortly afterwards with a superb individual effort by Aaron when he driblled down the wing and finished in style from a tight angle.  Aaron then turned provider for our 3rd goal when he setup Luke who finished smartly with a volley to make it 3-o.

The 2nd quarter saw a much improved Castle Villa who quickly scored 2 fine goals of their own to make it 3-2 at half time.

The 3rd quarter saw the game continue in a really tight and competitive manner with Castle Villa finding the net another two times to take the lead for the first time.  This lead wasn’t to last for long though as Brian scored a goal worthy of winning any match with screamer of a shot from distance that brought us into the final quarter all square.

It was anyones game with chances coming at both ends. Adam Carbery made a number of vital stops for us in the Caragh goals, while the bit of magic we need to get the winner came when Jacob placed a perfect pass to Luke who in turn picked out Jack who slotted home to seal a 5-4 win for us.

All 11 of the Caragh boys did their team proud today!! Big thanks to Tony Gately of Castle Villa for all the fantastic match pictures.
