Good win for U10 Premier Team vs Newbridge Town Yellow

Caragh Celtic faced a well organised and strong Newbridge town team in the Parish Field. The first quarter saw the Caragh team under pressure from Newbridge and only some fine defending and goalkeeping from David MacPartlin kept it scoreless until a fine passage of play saw Gavin Thompson score a great individual goal.
By the end of quarter 2 Caragh were 3 nil ahead following superb goals from Niall Dolan and Nicholas Hore. The Newbridge goalkeeper pulled off some fine saves in the quarter, particularly from a long range shot delivered by Luke O’Donovan. Fionn McCarthy, Andrew Dunne and Adam Earley deserve special mention for their heroic defending which kept Newbridge scoreless at half time.
Newbridge pulled a goal back in the next quarter after some careless passing by Caragh however, when the final whistle went at the end of quarter 4 Caragh had extended their lead again to 3 goals. Darragh Cunningham’s long range effort dipped in over the head of the Newbridge keeper to bring the score to 4-1. This lead would have been reduced had it not been for some outstanding saves by Niall Dolan in goal for Caragh and some last ditch tackles by Dara Crowley.
