Caragh Celtic U-8’s continue winning run

Caragh Celtic continued their winning ways with a 4-0 win away to Bush Celtic on Saturday 28th of September. A goal in each quarter made this victory a comfortable one and the boys can be more than happy with their performance.

Daragh Cooke got Caragh Celtic off to a great start with a goal in the first quarter. Cookie was full of energy on Saturday and big things are expected now that he has got off the mark. Charlie Carr was the man of the moment in the second quarter and registered the second to put Caragh 2-0 ahead. Charlie is now top scorer with three from three games. Daragh Carey who had a superb game grabbed the third goal in the third quarter after a superb run by Cathal McCarthy who worked the ball out of defence, made it to the end line and whipped in a cross to young Carey. Daragh Carey struck the ball beautifully and kept it low and to the right of the keeper. Goal of the game in my humble opinion. Aaron Sharpe finished proceedings with the fourth goal in the last quarter and ran the length of the pitch to celebrate.Great to see such joy.

All the boys played well and one of the major positives was the clean sheet that was kept. In fact Bush Celtic never really troubled the Caragh Celtic goal. This was due to Lorcan Byrne, Cathal McCarthy and Jack Courtney, the ever reliable trio at the back, with Cathal and Lorcan sharing keeper duties. Bobby Taaffe was his ever assured self in the middle of the park and was ably assisted by Cian Corcoran and Daragh Carey. Is there a livelier duo in the league than Corcoran and Carey? Carraig Roche made his league debut on Saturday and put in a great couple of quarters. All the boys are looking forward to the next game and hopefully we can stay competitive. A word of warning however for next years under 8 manager, most if not all of this Bush Celtic side are under age next year and this is a side that will only improve having spent a season in the league. Next years trip to Bush Celtic may not be as comfortable.
